BRIEFING – Interlagos

35 Laps , 150.5 km
42.0+ Liters suggested. Always check with your own driving

~1.15 Liters per lap

  • No active overtakes until after Turn 3 left, magenta in the map above.
Causing an accident in T4L will be heavily penalized, as if it was in the no pass zone.
  • Be careful when braking into Turn 4 Left on lap 1, we often have accidents there. Passing is allowed by that corner, but this does not mean you are obliged to attempt. Very long race and many passing spots today, playing it safe makes even more sense than usual.
  • No 3-wide for the entire lap 1, as usual, no matter how tempting it might be.
  • Voluntarily driving off-track to gain an advantage is illegal, even if done only once.
Excessive number of 1x may also result in a penalty.
Aim to avoid driving off-track (1x), especially in turn 4 left, but if it happens a few times by mistake it is no big deal. Going excessively wide in T4 (car fully beyond the curb) may be penalized post-race even if done sporadically.
Collecting a 1x by going a bit wide exiting T11R (Bico do Pato) is not going to be a problem.
  • Driving off-track on corner entry is illegal even if there is no 1x.
Always keep two wheels fully on the track. See rules for further details.

Going off-track between T7R and T8R will be scrutinized and penalized.
In the last corner, please try to keep two wheels on track. If you go a little wider than that it is not going to be a huge deal. However, if you touch the blue bits with any part of the tyres it will be heavily penalized (even if done only once).
It is ok to drive on the curbs/concrete past the white lines in the slow section, instead.
  • Team games (e.g. waiting to give/get a draft) in qualify are strictly forbidden. Driving slow during qualify to improve performance on the following lap (lately referred to as brake dragging, even if done without braking) is also strictly forbidden.
